Australia Pacific LNG, the operator of the 9 mtpa LNG export facility on Curtis Island near Gladstone, has signed a new domestic gas supply deal.
APLNG announced on Monday that it has signed its third gas supply agreement in three years with Ampol, “supporting the manufacturing of transport fuels and lubricants at Queensland’s Lytton refinery and 550 jobs.”
The JV did not provide further details.
Last year, APLNG signed deals with Ampol Refineries and Alinta Energy.
According to a request for expression issued on September 16, APLNG is also seeking non-binding gas expressions of interest from domestic market participants to purchase firm gas from APLNG for supply during the period from January 1 to July 1, 2026.
APLNG is offering 30PJ of gas to the domestic market in the first half of 2026.
EOI proposals are to be submitted by September 30.

Australia’s Origin Energy is the upstream operator of APLNG, while Sinopec owns a 25 percent share in the JV.
US energy giant ConocoPhillips has a 47.5 percent share in the APLNG project and operates the 9 mtpa LNG export facility on Curtis Island.
Last year, APLNG shipped its 1000th LNG cargo since it started operations in 2016.
There are two export offtake agreements in place for LNG produced by APLNG.
These include a contract for 7.6 mtpa to JV partner Sinopec, and also 1 mtpa to Japan’s Kansai Electric, both for 20 years.
