Bangladesh’s RPGCL launches fresh tender for one spot LNG cargo

Bangladesh's Rupantarita Prakritik Gas (RPGCL), a unit of state-owned Petrobangla, has issued a new tender for one spot liquefied natural gas (LNG) cargo.

According to a tender document, the delivery window is December 27-28, 2025.

The firm issued the tender to the 24 organizations that have signed the MSPA (master sale and purchase agreement) with Petrobangla.

The tender closes on November 16.

RPGCL has not issued spot LNG cargo tenders in about two months.

Before this tender, RPGCL invited bids on September 11 for one spot LNG cargo in November and on September 4 for three LNG cargoes with delivery windows of November 22-23, November 25-26, and December 26-27.

Bangladesh currently imports LNG via two FSRU-based facilities, both of which feature Excelerate Energy’s FSRUs.

The 138,000-cbm FSRU Excellence serves Bangladesh’s first LNG import facility, Moheshkhali Floating LNG or MLNG, operated by Petrobangla.

Excelerate’s 138,000-cbm FSRU Summit LNG serves as the second LNG import facility operated by Summit.
