WNE said on Friday that it held a ceremony at the yard in the Lusi Port Economic Development Zone, in Jiangsu Province, to mark the launch of trial production and celebrate 6 million LTI-free man-hours for the infrastructure project.
This milestone marks the Qidong Yard’s transition from construction to production and operations, it said.
In 2024, WNE announced plans to build this yard.
It lies 98 km away from its Shanghai HQ, and only 85 km away from its Nantong yard which constructs floating facilities.
WNE noted that the Qidong yard is positioned for the fabrication and integration of large floating facilities and modules.
Moreover, the yard spans approximately 1.2 million square meters, with a 1,372-meter coastline, and is equipped with a 520M(L) x 90M(W) offshore dock.
As of now, the Qidong yard has commenced fabrication of the first batch of blocks, bringing key production lines and processes into substantive operation, WNE said.
With the Qidong yard entering trial production, WisNE will further optimize its manufacturing layout and enhance its large-scale delivery capability and full lifecycle support for high-end equipment, it added.
Wison’s FLNG business
WNE recently launched the hull of Genting’s 1.2 mtpa FLNG which will be installed in Indonesia.
The FLNG facility with a total length of about 278.8 meters, a width of 60 meters, and an operational water depth of 32.8 meters, adopts Wison’s self-developed standardized design.
Upon completion in 2026, the FLNG facility will head to West Papua, Indonesia.
This is Wison’s third FLNG facility.
In August Last year, Wison held the sail-away ceremony for Eni’s Nguya floating liquefied natural gas (FLNG) unit in Shanghai, China.
The 2.4 mtpa unit is serving the second phase of Eni’s Congo LNG project.
This FLNG joined Tango FLNG, which was also built by Wison.
Tango FLNG has a capacity of 0.6 mtpa.
