Awilco LNG said in a statement on Tuesday that Rigault brings more than 20 years of experience in shipping, commercial strategy, and asset transactions, including establishing and overseeing trading-related activities as part of broader commercial platforms.
He previously served as EVP commercial at BW LPG, where he led global commercial activities, helped develop the company’s LPG trading platform, and contributed to its expansion in India.
Earlier, he was a partner and shipbroker at Inge Steensland, focusing on sale and purchase and newbuilding projects in the gas segment.
Awilco LNG added that Rigault’s “long and varied experience on the commercial side of shipping and trading will no doubt be an asset to the company going forward.”
In March, Awilco LNG announced the establishment of a trading and structuring platform as it transforms from a pure LNG shipping company into a more integrated participant in the LNG value chain.
In addition to the company’s vessels WilForce and WilPride, the trading unit may also use third-party vessels.
Awilco LNG’s CEO Jon Skule Storheill has stepped down from the position.
Also, Awilco LNG aims to change its name to ALNG as the company enters its next phase of development.
