Australian LNG player Santos has appointed Kate Vidgen as an independent non-executive director effective June 17.
Santos said in a statement on Wednesday that Vidgen brings “extensive experience to Santos as a senior finance executive and non-executive director, with a demonstrated track record across the energy, resources, infrastructure, and technology sectors.”
In addition to 26 years in executive roles at Macquarie Group, Vidgen has accumulated more than a decade of board-level experience.
Notably, Vidgen served as the chair of Quadrant Energy, a Western Australian oil and gas producer acquired by Santos in 2018.
Vidgen’s appointment follows the retirement of Yasmin Allen in February 2026.
Santos chair Keith Spence said Vidgen’s appointment brings “deep and directly relevant expertise that will strengthen the Santos board.”
“Kate’s experience across strategic development, commercial negotiation, financial structuring, capital allocation, governance, safety and sustainability will be a significant asset to the Board as Santos continues to execute on its strategy,” Spence said.
