Reganosa announced the contract award via its social media on Tuesday, but it did not provide the pricing details.
According to the Spanish firm, the scope of the contract includes supporting the operational preparation of the FSRU-based terminal, providing guidance related to the commissioning and initial operation phases, and assisting with procurement processes
Reganosa, which earlier this year won an LNG contract in Senegal, noted that this project is one of Poland’s key strategic initiatives to strengthen security of supply and establish itself as a gas hub in Europe, against a backdrop of energy diversification.
South Korean shipbuilder HD Hyundai Heavy Industries launched MOL’s FSRU, which will serve Gaz-System’s Gdansk LNG project, in May this year.
The 170,000-cbm FSRU is expected to arrive at the Gulf of Gdansk at the end of 2027, and the commencement of regasification services is scheduled for the first quarter of 2028, according to Gaz-System.
Poland’s Orlen previously booked the entire 6.1 bcm per year of regasification capacity at the FSRU-based facility.
In addition to this unit, Gaz-System plans to install a second FSRU as part of the project.
The company recently said that the second FSRU as part of the LNG import project in Gdansk Bay will be built following a successful open season for regasification capacity.
According to Gaz-System, market participants’ interest exceeded the initial offer of 39 slots per year.
As a result, Gaz-System has decided to increase the new terminal’s regasification capacity from the planned 4.5 billion cbm to 6.1 billion cbm of gas per year.
Including the second FSRU, Poland will have three LNG terminals with a combined regasification capacity of over 20 billion cubic meters of gas per year, Gaz-System said.
