New LNG tanker joins TMS Cardiff Gas fleet

Greece-based LNG shipping company TMS Cardiff Gas said it has taken delivery of a brand new liquefied natural gas carrier.

TMS Cardiff Gas said it handed over the tanker named Amberjack LNG to her charterer, one of the major gas companies, on Tuesday.

Amberjack LNG is a sister vessel to Le Seine. TMS Cardiff Gas delivered this vessel to its charter Total at the end of February.

The new vessel built by South Korea’s Hyundai Heavy Industries is capable of transporting 174,000 cubic meters of LNG in GTT’s Mark III Flex containment system.

The LNG carrier features two-stroke, low-pressure X-DF main engine from WinGD.

TMS Cardiff Gas currently manages a fleet of sixteen LNG carriers.

The shipping company has nine more on order in South Korea that are scheduled for delivery in 2020/2021.
