Donsotank welcomes LNG-powered Prospero in its fleet

Swedish privately-owned shipping firm Donsotank has taken delivery of the first out of two LNG-powered product and chemical tankers from China’s Wuhu yard.

Donsotank said the Chinese yard delivered the 22,000-dwt hybrid tanker Prospero during a ceremony held on Tuesday.

LNG Prime reported on this delivery in October as the DNV-classed LNG-powered ship was undergoing sea trials.

Wuhu launched this vessel in January this year and its sister ship Pacifico in June.

Designed by FKAB, both of the ice-class 1A ships have Wartsila LNG propulsion but Wuhu also equipped them with a battery pack.

In addition, the 167.3 meters long vessels feature an F-Bow design hull optimized to withstand harsh weather conditions.
