Italian energy and LNG contractor Saipem said it has promoted Alessandro Puliti to the role of chief executive officer to replace Francesco Caio who has resigned with immediate effect.
Puliti is also upholding his role as Saipem’s general manager, the company said in a statement.
“Caio resigned all his powers as he considered completed, with the first-half year results, his role to reposition and relaunch the company,” Saipem said in the statement.
Caio started his role as Saipem’s CEO and general manager in May 2021.
His successor Puliti previoulsy worked for Agip and parent Eni. He was appointed chief operating officer natural resources of Eni on July 1, 2020.
Eni is the biggest shareholder in Saipem and holds about 31.1 percent of the company.
