Finland’s Gasgrid offers Inkoo FSRU regas slots for April-September

Finland’s Gasgrid is offering regasification slots for the April-September period next year at the FSRU-based LNG import terminal in Inkoo, as it awaits the arrival of Excelerate Energy’s 150,900-cbm FSRU Exemplar.

Excelerate’s FSRU will serve Finland, Estonia, and other Baltic states under a 10-year charter deal Gasgrid signed with the US LNG firm in May.

Earlier this month, the vessel left Navantia’s yard in El Ferrol, Spain, to pick up a cargo and then head to Inkoo.

However, the FSRU has still not loaded a cargo and was on Friday located near the Gibraltar port, its AIS data provided by VesselsValue shows.

Following the FSRUs arrival in Inkoo later this month and commissioning phase, Gasgrid is expecting to launch commercial operations at the facility in mid-January.

The FSRU can supply more than 5 billion cubic meters per year of regasification capacity.

Gasgrid previously said the maximum regasification rate of the terminal into the transmission system is 140 GWh/d and the minimum 60 GWh/d.

Floating LNG Terminal Finland (FLTF), a unit of Gasgrid and the operator of the FSRU-based terminal, has already invited market participants to submit offers for a total of seven capacity slots for the first quarter next year.

Now the firm is offering in total 14 terminal slots of 1,000 GWh for the second and the third quarter of 2023, according to a Gasgrid statement issued on December 14.

There are 3 slots both in April and September while the firm offered 2 slots per month in May, June, July, and August.

The firm expects the terminal to be unavailable for regasification due to maintenance for 24 hours during week 25 and for 48 hours during week 38.

Gasgrid said the capacity allocation process for the period between April 1 to September 30,2023 would start on December 15.

Terminal users need to submit their terminal capacity requests by January 9, 2023, it said.
