Worley lands Shell contract

A unit of LNG giant Shell has awarded Australian engineering firm Worley an enterprise framework agreement to provide services to Shell’s projects across the globe.

The term of the deal awarded by Shell Global Solutions International is three years but it also has options for two one-year extensions, according to a statement by Worley.

This EFA follows a previous five-year framework agreement announced in May 2017, it said.

Worley did not reveal the price tag of the contract.

Under the deal, Worley will provide engineering, procurement, and integrated project management services for Shell’s projects covering all of the company’s businesses.

Worley said the project execution teams will deliver services with a focus on digitalization and also replication.

Also, the services will be provided by a number of Worley locations including Canada, United States, Europe, Middle East, South East Asia, and Australia.

The contract outlines incentive mechanisms that reward excellence in project execution, the firm said.

“We are pleased to be a strategic global partner with Shell in the execution of their upcoming projects and their journey to net zero,” Chris Ashton, CEO of Worley, said in the statement.

Worley said in its results report released in February this year it had executed more than 110 LNG, gas, and refined fuels projects in the last 12 months.

The company recently signed a deal for the construction of Venture Global LNG’s proposed CP2 LNG export terminal in Louisiana.

The two firms have agreed substantive terms for a reimbursable engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract for Phase 1 of Venture Global’s LNG terminal.
