Italy’s OLT Offshore LNG Toscana has allocated more regasification capacity at its FSRU located off the coast between Livorno and Pisa.
This follows the completion of OLT Offshore’s auctions for the allocation of annual and multi-year capacity without expression of interest, from gas year 2027/2028 to gas year 2032/2033.
According to a statement by the FSRU operator, it has allocated three slots of 155,000 cbm for each gas year, for a total of 18 slots.
“Therefore, in addition to 100 percent of the capacity already allocated up to gas year 2026/2027, a total of 29 percent of the regasification capacity allocated in the gas years 2027/2028 and 2028/2029 as well as 24 percent in the gas years 2029/2030 to 2032/2033 is reached,” OLT Offshore said.
The Italian company also said that the awardees in the gas year 2032/2033 have the priority, no later than September 30, 2026, for purchasing capacity for the following gas years (beyond the current useful life of the terminal), at the award price conditions and for the same number of slots.
OLT Offshore said the effective allocation of regasification capacity associated with the gas years starting from 2033/2034 remains subject to the company deciding to extend the useful life of the terminal.
In May this year, OLT Offshore received approval to boost its regasification capacity to 5 billion standard cubic meters per year,
The FSRU sends regasified LNG to Italy’s national grid via a 36.5 kilometers long pipeline.
Italy’s Snam has a 49.07 percent stake in the LNG terminal, while Igneo Infrastructure Partners owns a 48.24 percent share.
Also, Golar LNG, that provided the FSRU, has a minor 2.69 percent stake in the LNG import facility.
