ALL Energy plans Altamira LNG bunkering hub

Houston-based ALL Energy, backed by Mexico's SIMSA, is planning to build what it says is Mexico’s first dedicated LNG marine bunkering hub in Altamira.

Located at the Port of Altamira, Tamaulipas, the terminal will connect major maritime routes between Galveston, Port Lauderdale, the Bahamas, and Puerto Morelos, according to ALL Energy’s website.

It will supply LNG to commercial, cruise, and offshore vessels.

The company is developing the project via its unit ALL Bunkering.

ALL Energy’s facility will feature CryoSys modular system with Phase 1 capacity of 400,000 gallons per day, scalable up to 1.6 MM GPD.

The company says that the “high-efficiency” liquefaction units are designed for flexible expansion and optimized energy performance across all project phases.

Moreover, the facility will feature a 30,000-cbm full containment tank, a dedicated marine dock for bunkering vessels, and multi-bay truck loading racks for regional LNG distribution.

The project timeline on ALL Energy’s website shows that the company previously expected to take a final investment decision in the third quarter of this year and to begin construction in the first quarter of 2026 with commissioning in the fourth quarter of 2027.

ALL Energy already operates LNG Hermosillo, a production facility with a capacity of 300,000 gallons per day, and LNG Leon Guzman, a production facility with a capacity of 150,000 gallons per day, as well as natural gas pipelines and LNG filling stations.

Altamira is already home to New Fortress Energy’s offshore FLNG project.

The FLNG project consists of three rigs, Pioneer I, II, and III.

Besides the three rigs, the 160,000-cbm Penguin FSU serves the project as a floating storage unit.

In addition to the first FLNG project, NFE closed in July last year its previously announced $700 million loan for its second FLNG unit which it aims to install onshore in Altamira.
