Honeywell said in a statement on Tuesday that it had signed an agreement with Argent LNG to assess the use of its pretreatment solutions for the proposed LNG export facility.
The firm did not provide further details regarding the agreement.
Honeywell’s LNG pretreatment solutions help remove contaminants from natural gas.
When used together, Honeywell’s modular mercury removal unit, acid gas removal unit, and separSIV unit can remove mercury, carbon dioxide, sulfur, water, and heavy hydrocarbons to applicable LNG specifications.
Prior to this agreement, Argent LNG selected Baker Hughes as the liquefaction solution and related services provider for the planned LNG export terminal in Port Fourchon.
The project will incorporate Baker Hughes’ NMBL modularized LNG solution powered by the LM9000 gas turbine.
In addition, Argent LNG previously selected LNG equipment maker Chart Industries to supply its mid-scale modular liquefaction solution for the planned LNG export terminal, and it signed a deal with ABB to collaborate on automation and electrical solutions.

In January this year, Argent LNG signed a non-binding heads of agreement with the government of Bangladesh to supply the country with LNG from its planned LNG export terminal.
Under the HoA, Argent will supply state-owned Petrobanga with 5 million metric tons of LNG, according to the firm.
In June last year, Argent LNG signed a long-term lease agreement with the Greater Lafourche Port Commission, securing 144 acres of land at Port Fourchon.
According to Argent LNG’s website, the facility is designed with Worley as program managers and Kiewit as the contractor.
Argent LNG’s facility will have an initial capacity of up to 12 million tons per annum (mtpa), with an estimated cost of about $10 billion.
There is a potential to expand the facility to up to 25 mtpa of LNG.
Additionally, the project will feature a smaller-scale plant tailored to supply LNG for next-generation LNG-powered offshore supply vessels (OSVs) in the Gulf of Mexico, according to Argent LNG.
Argent LNG expects to launch the facility in early 2030.
