Peru LNG sent five cargoes in March

LNG exports from Peru’s sole liquefaction plant remained steady in March with five cargoes leaving the facility at Pampa Melchorita, according to state-owned Perupetro.

Perupetro’s data shows that two shipments were sent to South Korea and one each to the UK, Japan, and China.

The shipments loaded onboard the LNG carriers Extramadura Knutsen, Methane Princess, Myrina, SM Albatross, and Murex equal about 363,356 tonnes.

This compares to five cargoes and about 363,521 tonnes in February this year, while Peru LNG also sent five cargoes in March 2022.

Peru LNG shipped 15 LNG cargoes during January-March, compared to 13 shipments during the same period last year, according to the data.

In total, the 4.45 mtpa LNG plant sent 712 LNG cargoes since 2010, the data shows.

US-based Hunt Oil holds a 50 percent operating stake in the Pampa Melchorita LNG plant, while SK and Marubeni have 20 percent and 10 percent, respectively.

LNG giant Shell also holds a 20 percent stake and takes all the volumes produced at the facility.
