Peru LNG terminal shipped four cargoes in July

Peru LNG’s liquefaction plant at Pampa Melchorita has shipped four cargoes in July, one shipment less when compared to the month before, according to state-owned Perupetro.

Perupetro’s data shows that three shipments were sent to Japan and one cargo to Spain.

The shipments loaded onboard the LNG carriers SM Bluebird, Alicante Knutsen, and Huelva Knutsen, equal about 224,264 tonnes.

SM Bluebird’s AIS data that the 174,000-cbm vessel picked up a cargo at the Peru LNG plant in the beginning of July and after that it visited the FSRU BW Tatiana in El Salvador.

This 2022-built LNG carrier, owned by Korea Line and chartered by Shell, then returned to Pampa Melchorita to load a cargo and was late on Sunday located offshore Uruguay and heading to France’s Montoir.

These four LNG cargoes loaded at the Peru LNG plant in July compare to five cargoes and about 349,343 tonnes in June this year, while Peru LNG did not ship any cargoes in July last year due to maintenance.

Peru LNG shipped 34 LNG cargoes during January-July, compared to 32 shipments during the same period last year, according to the data.

In total, the 4.45 mtpa LNG plant sent 731 LNG cargoes since 2010, the data shows.

US-based Hunt Oil holds a 50 percent operating stake in the Pampa Melchorita LNG plant, while SK and Marubeni have 20 percent and 10 percent, respectively.

LNG giant Shell also holds a 20 percent stake and takes all the volumes produced at the facility.
