US LNG exports climb to 30 cargoes

US liquefied natural gas (LNG) plants shipped 30 cargoes during the week ending April 30. According to the Energy Information Administration, pipeline deliveries to the LNG terminals increased compared to the prior week.

EIA said in its weekly report, citing shipping data provided by Bloomberg Finance, that the total capacity of these 30 LNG vessels is 115 Bcf.

This compares to 27 shipments and 102 Bcf in the week ending April 23.

Natural gas deliveries up

According to data from S&P Global Commodity Insights, average natural gas deliveries to US LNG export terminals increased 0.3 Bcf/d from last week to 16.4 Bcf/d.

Natural gas deliveries to terminals in South Louisiana increased 4 percent (0.4 Bcf/d) to 10.7 Bcf/d, and natural gas deliveries to terminals in South Texas decreased 3 percent (0.1 Bcf/d), averaging 4.5 Bcf/d.

EIA said natural gas deliveries to terminals outside the Gulf Coast were essentially unchanged at 1.2 Bcf/d this week.

During the week under review, Cheniere’s Sabine Pass plant shipped eight LNG cargoes, and the company’s Corpus Christi facility sent five shipments.

Moreover, the Freeport LNG terminal sent five cargoes, while Sempra Infrastructure’s Cameron LNG terminal and Venture Global LNG’s Calcasieu Pass terminal each sent four cargoes.

In addition, Venture Global’s Plaquemines LNG shipped two cargoes, and the Cove Point terminal and the Elba Island facility each sent one cargo during the week under review.

Henry Hub climbs

EIA said that the Henry Hub spot price rose 19 cents from $2.93 per million British thermal units (MMBtu) last Wednesday to $3.12/MMBtu this Wednesday.

The June 2025 NYMEX contract price increased to $3.326/MMBtu, up 16 cents from last Wednesday to this Wednesday.

Also, the price of the 12-month strip averaging June 2025 through May 2026 futures contracts climbed 21 cents to $4.020/MMBtu.

TTF averaged $10.85/MMBtu

The agency said that international natural gas futures were decreased this report week.

Bloomberg Finance reported that average front-month futures prices for LNG cargoes in East Asia decreased 60 cents to a weekly average of $11.30/MMBtu.

Natural gas futures for delivery at the Title Transfer Facility (TTF) in the Netherlands decreased 83 cents to a weekly average of $10.85/MMBtu.

In the same week last year (week ending May 1, 2024), the prices were $10.31/MMBtu in East Asia and $9.07/MMBtu at TTF, EIA said.
