Alpha Gas to welcome another LNG newbuild

Greece-based Alpha Gas will soon welcome another LNG carrier in its fleet boosting the total to four vessels in operation.

The 173,400-cbm Energy Integrity has recently returned to Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering’s yard in Okpo after completing gas trials, its AIS data shows.

This will be the third newbuild carrier to join Alpha Gas fleet since the delivery of Energy Pacific in September 2020 and Energy Endeavour in January this year.

Alpha Gas, controlled by Anna Angelicoussis, has in total four sister vessels on order at DSME and expects to take delivery of the two remaining LNG newbuilds by the second quarter this year.

They all feature MAN B&W ME-GI engines, a reliquefication system, and GTT’s NO96 cargo containment system.

Besides these newbuilds, the Greek firm owns the 2015-built 159,881-cbm Energy Atlantic that mainly ships LNG from the US.
