GTT bags new LNG tank gig from HHI

South Korea’s Hyundai Heavy Industries has contracted Paris-based GTT to design tanks for three new liquefied natural gas (LNG) carriers.

The LNG containment firm said in a statement on Tuesday it won the order at the end of July.

All of the 174,000-cbm LNG tankers will feature the Mark III Flex membrane containment system.

HHI would build the three vessels for an Asian owner and deliver them in the second and third quarters of 2024, GTT said.

GTT did not provide any additional information.

VesselsValue data shows that either Pan Ocean or Hyundai LNG Shipping could be the owners behind this order.

Prior to this order, GTT revealed a contract with Hyundai Samho for two 174,000-cbm LNG carriers.
