French LNG containment giant GTT said it has won an order from South Korea’s Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering to design tanks for new LNG carriers.
According to a statement on Tuesday, GTT will design tanks for two 174,000-cbm LNG vessels.
GTT said it won the order in March and the vessels would feature its NO96 GW membrane containment system.
DSME expects to deliver the LNG carriers to an undisclosed owner in the fourth quarter of 2025.
The LNG containment specialist did not provide any additional information regarding the order.
This order is probably related to an announcement by DSME issued on March 18.
Under that order, the Korean shipbuilder said it would build two 174,000-cbm LNG carriers for about $430 million and deliver the vessels by the end of 2025.
BW LNG, a unit of the Singapore-based gas giant BW, ordered these ME-GI vessels at DSME.
