GTT scores new LNG tank contract from Samsung Heavy

French LNG containment giant GTT said it has secured another order from South Korea’s Samsung Heavy Industries.

Under the new contract awarded last month, GTT will design tanks of one new 174,000-cbm LNG carrier.

The vessel will feature GTT’s Mark III Flex membrane containment system.

GTT said in a statement Samsung Heavy would deliver the vessel to an unidentified owner in the last quarter of 2024, but it did not provide any additional information.

The Korean yard revealed a similar order to this in a stock exchange filing last week.

Samsung Heavy said it would build one LNG carrier for an owner based in Central and South America for 241.6 billion won ($204 million).
