GTT announced on Thursday that it received the order from Samsung Heavy in the fourth quarter of 2025.
The LNG tanks specialists will be responsible for the design of the cryogenic tanks for the two vessels, each offering a total capacity of 174,000 cbm.
GTT said the tanks will be fitted with its Mark III Flex membrane containment system.
Delivery of the vessels is scheduled for 2028 and 2029.
GTT did not provide further information.
Last month, Samsung Heavy announced an order valued at approximately $503 million for two LNG carriers.
Samsung Heavy said it will build the vessels for an unidentified owner in Oceania and deliver them by March 2029.
Shipbuilding sources said at the time that Denmark’s Celsius Tankers, a unit of Celsius Shipping, coudl be behind this order for two LNG carriers.
Purus and Celsius are partners and operate a fleet of LNG carriers.
However, it remains unclear whether Celsius is involved in the new Purus order and, if so, how.
Purus’ website previously showed that its fleet includes the 2024-built Celsius Greenwich and Celsius Granada, and the 2025-built Celsius Galway and Celsius Guadeloupe.
Earlier this year, Purus ordered one LNG carrier from HD Hyundai Heavy Industries, bringing its newbuilding program to a total of ten gas carriers under construction at Hyundai Group-affiliated shipyards.
