Nepal’s SG Group, the parent company of Yogya Holdings, announced the arrival of the first LNG import at Nepal’s first LNG regasification plant in Simara in a social media post on Sunday.
India’s Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas Hardeep Singh Puri said in a separate social media post that the “inaugural consignment from IndianOil’s Dhamra LNG terminal activates the landmark agreement signed with Yogya Holdings Pvt. Ltd. (YHPL) during India Energy Week 2025.”
Earlier this year, Indian Oil and Yogya Indian signed a deal under which the Indian firm will supply 240 metric tons of LNG per year to Yogya by road.
Puri said that IndianOil has established cryogenic storage and regasification facilities at Simara, Nepal, “laying the foundation for the nation’s industrial LNG ecosystem and promoting cleaner fuel adoption.”
“Transported via cryogenic road tankers through the Raxaul border from the Dhamra LNG terminal, the LNG reached YHPL’s facility on November 19, 2025,” he said.
India’s Adani and France’s TotalEnergies own the 5 mtpa Dhamra LNG import facility located in Odisha, on India’s east coast, while Indian Oil owns the Ennore LNG terminal in Tamil Naidu.
According to Indian Oil’s website, IndianOil booked 3.75 mmtpa, 3 mmtpa, 1 mmtpa, and 0.43 mmtpa of regasification capacity at the Dahej, Dhamra, Jafrabad and Kochi LNG terminals, respectively.
Indian Oil is one of the promoters of Petronet LNG, India’s largest LNG importer and the operator of Dahej and Kochi terminals.
