Pakistan launches fresh spot LNG cargo tender

State-owned Pakistan LNG has released a new tender inviting firms to submit bids for two spot LNG shipments.

Pakistan LNG is seeking two 140,000-cbm cargoes on a delivered ex-ship (DES) basis, according to a document released on Wednesday.

The delivery windows are June 13-14 and June 20-21.

Also, the potential tender winner will deliver the cargo to the FSRU BW Integrity serving Pakistan GasPort’s terminal in Port Qasim, Karachi, or the Energo Elengy facility, which uses the FSRU Exquisite.

The tender closes on June 11 at 2 p.m. (PST).

BP Singapore recently submitted the most competitive bid, offering a price of $19.1337/MMBtu, for a spot LNG cargo scheduled for June 6-7.

Before this, Pakistan LNG canceled a tender for two spot LNG cargoes due to the arrival of cheaper Qatari long-term contracted volumes.

Last month, Pakistan received three LNG cargoes from Qatar via the Strait of Hormuz, the first time since the start of the Middle East conflict.

Pakistan gets most of its supplies under long-term contracts from Qatar, but also from the spot market when the prices are affordable for the country to fuel its power plants.

Spot LNG prices jumped in March amid the Middle East conflict and remain elevated due to the ongoing crisis.
