Australian LNG player Santos has appointed Sherry Duhe as its new chief financial officer.
Duhe will replace current CFO Anthea McKinnell, who is retiring after more than five years with Santos.
Santos said Duhe will start with the company in mid-October 2024.
Duhe joins the Australian company as a “highly skilled and experienced finance executive in the energy sector.”
During her 28-year career, primarily in the oil and gas industry, Duhe has held senior finance, commercial, and merger and acquisition roles in Australia, the United States, Europe, and the Middle East.
Duhe was most recently interim CEO at Newcrest.
Before that, she served as CFO at LNG player Woodside for four years until early 2022, prior to which she had a 13-year career with Shell, Santos said.
Santos managing director and CEO Kevin Gallagher said he was “delighted” that Duhe is joining the Santos executive leadership team in the “critical” CFO role.
“Sherry’s demonstrated financial capability, knowledge of the complex and dynamic energy and financial markets in which Santos operates, and experience in engaging with investors, capital markets and governments, positions her well to support the Santos management team and board of directors in delivering superior value for our shareholders into the future,” Gallagher said.
Santos just announced it will supply 19 LNG cargoes to a unit of Switzerland-based energy trader Glencore under a new mid-term deal.
Prior to this deal, the company executed long-term LNG sales and purchase agreement with Japan’s Hokkaido Gas.
Santos operates the GLNG and Darwin LNG plants and has a stake in the PNG LNG terminal.
