GTT scores tank order for Greek LNG carrier quartet

French LNG containment giant GTT said on Thursday it has won a new order from South Korea’s Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering to design tanks for four new Greek LNG carriers.

According to the statement, Maria Angelicoussis-led Maran Gas Maritime ordered the four new 174,000-cbm LNG-powered vessels from DSME.

GTT said the tanks would feature its NO96 GW membrane containment system.

DSME would deliver the vessels in the third and fourth quarter of 2025.

The French LNG containment giant did not provide information regarding the price tag of the order.

This year, DSME revealed two separate orders from Maran Gas each inluding two LNG carriers.

In January, the yard said Maran Gas exercised the option for two 174,000-cbm LNG carriers as part of the original order signed in November.

The Greek shipping firm then ordered two additional LNG vessels of the same capacity from DSME earlier this month.
