Orlen announced on Thursday that the two firms signed two cooperation agreements that set the framework for further collaboration between the companies in areas critical to Ukraine’s energy security.
The first agreement concerns the development of cooperation in the field of LNG and aims to initiate analyses regarding the expansion of LNG trade between the two firms.
In particular, it covers the possibility of joint or coordinated use of access to regasification and transportation infrastructure in the Baltic Sea region and Central and Eastern Europe, as well as the search for logistical and commercial solutions that could facilitate LNG deliveries to Ukraine, increase the flexibility of supply sources, and strengthen the energy security of Ukraine and the entire region, Orlen said.
The two firms signed a cooperation deal in March 2025 under which Orlen delivered LNG cargoes to the FSRU-based terminal in Lithuania’s Klaipeda and the Swinoujscie terminal in Poland.
In November 2025, Orlen agreed to supply three more LNG cargoes, equivalent to over 300 billion cubic feet (bcf) of gas, to Naftogaz from the US in the first quarter of 2026.
Naftofaz recently booked long-term regasification capacities at the KN Energies-operated FSRU-based LNG import facility in Klaipeda.
This is the first time Naftogaz has secured long-term LNG regasification capacity in Europe.
The capacity provides access to the LNG terminal in Klaipeda from 2033 to 2044.
