RPGCL launches fresh spot LNG tender

Bangladesh's Rupantarita Prakritik Gas (RPGCL), a unit of state-owned Petrobangla, has issued a new tender for one spot liquefied natural gas (LNG) cargo.

According to a tender document, the delivery window is January 9-10, 2026.

The firm issued the tender to the 24 organizations that have signed the MSPA (master sale and purchase agreement) with Petrobangla.

The tender closes on December 14.

Before this tender, RPCGL launched a tender on November 11 for one spot LNG cargo with delivery between December 27-28, 2025.

Prior to this tender, RPGCL has not issued spot LNG cargo tenders in about two months.

According to local media reports, Bangladesh approved this week the purchase of one spot LNG cargo from Total Energies Gas & Power for $10.37/MMBtu.

Bangladesh currently imports LNG via two FSRU-based facilities, both of which feature Excelerate Energy’s FSRUs.

The 138,000-cbm FSRU Excellence serves Bangladesh’s first LNG import facility, Moheshkhali Floating LNG or MLNG, operated by Petrobangla.

Excelerate’s 138,000-cbm FSRU Summit LNG serves as the second LNG import facility operated by Summit.
