DESFA in Revithoussa LNG truck loading milestone

Greece’s DESFA has completed 1,000 truck loadings at its LNG import terminal located on the island of Revithoussa.

The Greek firm, owned by a consortium led by Snam, announced the milestone truck loading in a social media post on Tuesday.

DESFA said the trucks supply LNG to industries, remote communities, and off‑grid areas across Greece and Southeastern Europe.

It did not provide further details.

LNG deliveries to the Revithoussa LNG terminal jumped in 2025 compared to the year before, with the US supplying 86.1 percent of the volumes.

LNG shipments during 2025 totaled 30.84 terawatt-hours, delivered by 49 LNG carriers.

This marks a 65 percent increase compared to 18.69 TWh, or 27 tankers, in 2024.

DESFA launched the Revithoussa truck loading station in October 2022.

According to DESFA, its Revithoussa LNG truck loading service in 2025 was “dynamic”, confirming the growing market uptake of small-scale LNG solutions.

During the year, 707 LNG trucks were loaded, representing an increase of 171 percent compared to 261 LNG trucks in 2024.

The total volume handled amounted to 31,867 cbm of LNG, or 212,227 MWh of equivalent energy, recording an increase of over 174 percent compared to 2024, it said.
