Dutch transport firm to launch LNG-powered truck fleet

Dutch transport company Cargo Service Europe (CSE) has ordered 60 new Volvo FH LNG-powered trucks as it looks to reduce costs and emissions.

The order consists of 20 FH 4×2 LNG tractors and 40 FH 6×2 LNG trucks with a power of 460 hp, according to Volvo Truck’s Dutch unit.

In addtion, CSE will use the trucks to transport empty cans to soft drink and beer manufacturers, Volvo said.

CSE is looking to set up a carbon-neutral logistic chain and plans to fuel the trucks with bio-LNG in the future.

Worth mentioning here, Nordsol is moving forward with works on the first bio-LNG facility in the Netherlands in order to launch production later this year.

The firm has teamed up with Shell and Renewi on the facility, which will mainly supply bio-LNG for vehicles.
