According to a Himalaya statement, the company has entered into a new time charter agreement for the 2024-built bulker Mount Elbrus until June 30, 2026, with an evergreen structure thereafter.
Himalaya said the vessel will commence the new time charter in the first half of January following the planned redelivery from its current charterer.
The vessel will earn a fixed time charter of $30,000 per day, gross, until June 30, 2026, which thereafter will convert to an index-linked rate reflecting a significant premium to the Baltic 5TC index, Himalaya added.
Himalaya recently converted the index-linked charters to fixed-rate time charters for four of its LNG-powered Newcastlemax bulk carriers.
The charter deals were converted at an average rate of approximately $27,700 per day, gross, from January 1, 2026, to March 31, 2026.
In addition, the vessels will continue to earn scrubber benefits according to the terms of the existing time charter agreements, Himalaya said.
The company has 12 LNG-powered Newcastlemax bulk carriers in its fleet.
China’s New Times delivered Himalaya’s final bulk carrier, Mount Emai, last year.
Himalaya recently reported total operating revenues of $37.9 million, which is an average time charter equivalent earnings of approximately $35,600 per day, gross, in the third quarter of this year.
The company also reported net profit of $9.5 million and Ebitda of $29.3 million for the quarter ended September 30, 2025.
