South Korean shipbuilding giant Samsung Heavy Industries has launched a newbuild LNG carrier for GasLog.
The yard launched the LNG carrier named GasLog Georgetown on March 28, according to GasLog.
GasLog says it expects to take the delivery of the newbuild in October this year.
The vessel will be capable of transporting 180,000 cubic meters of LNG and features WinGD’s low-pressure gas X-DF propulsion.
The X-DF engines are able to operate both on natural gas or diesel.
Monaco-based GasLog’s total fleet consists of 35 vessels, with 28 carriers on the water and seven LNG carriers on order.
This includes 15 LNG carriers in operation owned by its New York-listed unit GasLog Partners.
