Belgium’s Fluxys to hold auctions for Zeebrugge LNG slots

Belgian LNG terminal operator Fluxys will hold auctions later this month for additional regasification slots at its LNG import facility in the port of Zeebrugge.

Fluxys said on Wendesday that the auctions will be held via a dedicated website on January 22 for three slots.

The delivery windows are April 22, June 13, and June 29.

For these slots, Fluxys LNG commercializes the firm rights to unload, store, and regasify up to 140,000-cbm LNG over 10 days, it said.

The starting price per slot is the regulated tariff of a slot.

For January 2026, this is 623,020, euros ($728,960), while the major price step is 100,000 euos and the minor price step is 25,000 euros, Fluxys said.

In November 2025, Fluxys announced that it will be offering 12 additional regasification slots at its LNG import facility in the port of Zeebrugge in 2026.

In operation since 1987, the Zeebrugge LNG terminal mostly receives shipments from Qatar, the US, and Russia.

Due to high demand for LNG, Fluxys is expanding the facility, and it has already increased the terminal’s capacity by adding three new open rack vaporizers.

The capacity has been increased since January 1, 2024 to 11.3 mtpa (15 bcma).

“The additional sendout capacity (1.3 mtpa / 2 bcma) is scheduled to be available on January 1, 2026,” Fluxys said previously.
