CIMC SOE bags new LNG bunkering vessel orders

China’s Nantong CIMC Sinopacific Offshore & Engineering has secured new orders to build LNG bunkering and supply vessels.

CIMC SOE said in a statement on Thursday that it has recently secured orders for two 20,000-cbm and one 18,900-cbm LNG bunkering and supply vessels.

The shipbuilder did not provide any further details regarding the orders.

It is worth noting here that Spanish LNG terminal operator Enagas and compatriot utility Naturgy recently joined forces on one 18,900-cbm LNG bunkering vessel, which will serve Naturgy under a charter deal.

The vessel is expected to start serving Naturgy in 2028 under a long-term contract, according to Enagas.

Enagas did not say who would build the LNG bunkering vessel.

Enagas’s unit Scale Green Energy previously ordered one 12,800-cbm LNG bunkering vessel at CIMC SOE.

CIMC SOE’s growing LNG orderbook

According to CIMC SOE, to date, it has secured a total of 10 orders for 20,000-cbm LNG bunkering vessels and three orders for 18,900-cbm bunkering vessels.
