GTT scores another LNG tank gig from Hudong-Zhonghua

France’s GTT said it has secured a new contract to design the tanks of two LNG carriers ordered at Chinese shipbuilder Hudong-Zhonghua.

GTT said in a statement that the 174,000-cbm vessels would be fitted with its NO96 L03+ membrane containment system.

Hudong-Zhonghua would deliver the vessels to an unidentified Asian owner during the fourth quarter of 2025 and the first quarter of 2026, GTT said.

The Paris-based LNG containment giant did not provide any additional information.

Hudong-Zhonghua has won several LNG carriers this year and this contract could be related to two LNG carriers China’s COSCO Shipping Energy Transportation ordered in May this year. These carriers will serve Sinochem under long-term charters.

Prior to this contract, GTT won an order from Hudong-Zhonghua for four LNG carriers.

Sources said that Japan’s K Line ordered these four LNG carriers earlier this year at Hudong-Zhonghua for charter to Malaysia’s Petronas.
