Hengli Heavy announced in a statement on Friday that it has secured orders for 12 vessels, including the two LNG dual-fuel ships.
The order includes six very large crude carriers (VLCCs) and four medium-sized container ships with a capacity of 6,000 teu.
With these orders, Hengli’s order wins this year approached 100 vessels, with its order backlog extending through 2029, the shipbuilder said.
It did not provide further details regarding the new orders.
Hengli’s parent Guangdong Songfa Ceramics said in a separate stock exchange announcment that the order for 12 vessels is worth approximately $1.1-1.6 billion.
The deliveries of the vessels are scheduled to take place from the second half of 2027 to 2028.
Earlier this year, Hengli announced that it had secured orders for six vessels, including four LNG dual-fuel ships.
Under the orders, the shipbuilder will build two LNG dual-fuel Suezmax crude oil tankers for an unidentified company.
This contract also included two optional vessels.
Several reports said at the time that EPS is behind this order.
In addition, Hengli Heavy will also build two LNG dual-fuel container vessels for an unidentified company.
The vessels will have a capacity of 22,000 teu.
Hengly Heavy said the contracted containerships are optional vessels of its previously announced batch of ultra-large container vessels.
Switzerland-based shipping giant MSC is said to be nehind this order.
