Singapore’s Sembcorp Marine has launched MOL’s LNG bunkering vessel, Brassavola, ahead of its delivery later this year, according to charterer Pavilion Energy.

The vessel is the first LNG bunkering ship chartered by Pavilion to supply LNG bunkers in the Port of Singapore, the world’s largest bunkering hub, the unit of Temasek said in a statement on Thursday.

“Brassavola is set to undergo sea and gas trials in the coming months,” Pavilion said.

Following delivery, Pavilion will share the 12,000-cbm vessel with TotalEnergies Marine Fuels, a unit of French energy giant TotalEnergies.

Pavilion did not provide any additional information.

Sembcorp Marine won this contract, its first LNG bunkering vessel, from MOL back in February 2019 and it previously had expected to deliver the vessel in 2021.

VesselsValue data suggests the LNG bunkering newbuild is worth about $50 million.

The 112 meters long and 22 meters wide dual-fuel vessel features two GTT Mark III Flex membrane tanks.

This vessel will join Singapore’s first LNG bunkering vessel, the 7,500-cbm FueLNG Bellina, owned by Keppel Offshore & Marine and Shell.
