According to VesselsValue, South Korea’s Sinokor sold the 126,400-cbm LNG carrier on an ‘as is’ basis.
It said the steam LNG carrier, which has about 3700 MT of aluminum, was sold to an undisclosed demolition buyer in Labuan, Malaysia.
VesselsValue suggests the price tag is about $17 million, or $562 per ldt.
In 2017, Sinokor purchased this LNG carrier, previously known as LNG Virgo, from American Overseas Marine for an undisclosed sum.
The vessel has been anchored in Malalag Bay for a long time, its AIS data shows.
In addition to this old LNG carrier, Sinokor has the 1978-built 126,400-cbm, Bering Energy, and the 1978-built 126,400-cbm, Gulf Energy.
The data shows that the firm also owns the 138,000-cbm Singapore Energy, the 2003-built 138,000-cbm Merchant, and the 2024-built 174,000-cbm Pacific Success.
VesselsValue suggests Sinokor is yet to deliver Singapore Energy to an unknown Middle Eastern owner after it sold the LNG carrier for $43 million earlier this year.
Last year, Sinokor also bought a 2007-built LNG carrier from France’s TotalEnergies and Japan’s NYK.
The vessel in question is the 154,500-cbm LNG Alliance, previously known as Gaselys.
In addition to these vessels, VesselsValue data shows that Sinkor has three LNG carriers under construction at South Korea’s Samsung Heavy.
