According to a Himalaya statement, the company has entered into a new time charter agreement for the 2023-built bulker Mount Ita for a period of 11 to 14 months.
Himalaya said the vessel will commence the new time charter in the second half of January following the planned redelivery under its current charter.
The vessel will earn an index-linked rate, reflecting a significant premium to the Baltic 5TC index, as well as certain rights to convert the time charters to fixed rates based on the prevailing FFA curve from time to time, the company added.
In December 2025, Himalaya achieved average time charter equivalent earnings of approximately $41,700 per day, gross, including average daily scrubber benefits on twelve vessels of approximately $1,500 per day.
The Company’s six vessels trading on fixed time charters earned approximately $38,200 per day, gross, including average daily scrubber benefits.
Moreover, the Company’s six vessels trading on index-linked time charters earned approximately $45,200 per day, gross, including average daily scrubber benefits.

In addition, the firm converted the index-linked charters to fixed-rate time charters for four of its LNG-powered Newcastlemax bulk carriers.
The charter deals were converted at an average rate of approximately $27,700 per day, gross, from January 1, 2026, to March 31, 2026.
