Wartsila Gas Solutions said the vessels are being built at the Zhejiang XinLe Shipbuilding yard in China for a Hong Kong-based shipowner.
The company booked the order in the fourth quarter of 2025.
The full scope of the contract includes LNG cargo handling and fuel gas supply systems, system engineering and design, as well as the integrated control and monitoring of the complete LNG cargo handling operation.
Wartsila Gas Solutions said the equipment is scheduled for delivery to the yard commencing in the fourth quarter of 2026, while the ships are expected to be delivered during the latter half of 2027.
The firm did not disclose the owner’s name or the contract price.
Earlier this year, Hong Kong-based SeaKapital ordered two 20,000-cbm LNG bunkering vessels at Ningbo Xinle Shipbuilding.
The 2+2+2 order included four optional vessels with a capacity of 20,000 cbm.
This is the first order for LNG bunkering vessels for SeaKapital LNG, while Xinle previously built Anthony Veder’s30,000-cbm LNG carrier, Coral Encanto.
According to SeaKapital’s website, the firm was founded in April 2023 by Sabrina Chao and Kenneth Lam as an independent shipowning company, capital provider, and investment platform headquartered in Hong Kong.
